i am uncertain about how many years it was that Shatner felt this would be the only computer you would need, but "not many" as it turned out, since the vastly superior Commodore 64 arrived quite soon after this magnificent machine. i did have a VIC 20 and it was indeed ace - it had colour, for a start, which was lacking in its only rival at the time, the ZX81.
to this day i find myself having arguments with people over which was superior - the Commodore 64 or the ZX Spectrum. well, the Speccy had one or two games, but the Commodore 64 was miles ahead. that Shatner was on the Commodore payroll surely resolves the argument - Commodore was the best.
