yay, some Stone Roses news! as i have not posted much about them for a bit, it's very welcome news too!
of great importance to people going to the London gigs in June, no less than Johnny Marr has been named as one of the support acts. not sure if it is for both days, but great if it is.
of great importance to the entire world is confirmation of the release date for the Made Of Stone documentary, giving a history of the band and a fair amount of focus on the Heaton Park triumph.
it has a Manchester (naturally) premiere on May 30, and goes on general release on June 6 2013. with some luck the DVD, Blu Ray and bubble chip is released very quickly after that so those of us in the rest of the world can see it.
there is the remote, and i do want to highlight remote, chance that i appear in this film! neither Michele, John, Lisa or i were interviewed at Heaton Park, but we were rather close and in the background when the film crew spoke to some people. with some great luck whatever those people said was interesting enough to make the final cut of the film!
the important thing, though, is that The Stone Roses, and presumably some of the footage from the amazing gig, will very much be in the film! i know that my sister, amongst many millions of others, will be most keen to see this!
