more from Saturday

hey everyone

blimey, i don't think that i have ever tried to post this many pics at once before, not even in my Frankie tribute! hope they all appear!!

here are some more pictures from yesterday, ones that will hopefully show off how much fun young James had!!

first up is one of some of the kids and the mamas sat around eating the class treats that Duncan and Linda had laid out for everyone. it would have caused a massive sugar overload had the kids not all been running around before and after eating!! you will notice the massive octopus in the background; that is the class jumping castle brought in for the party!!

and here is the sandpit. James' idea of making shapes in the sand is to just get Mama to do it for him!!

making shapes in the sand is all very well and good, but there was even more fun to be had in conducting experiments in mixing water and sand together. no one had the heart to tell them that the substance that is concrete had already been discovered, rather let them claim it as their own creation.....

and here is an image of James sat eating chippies whilst Spiros, occasionally known as Duncan, watches on. for some reason James calls Duncan "Doctor Duncan". you will no doubt not need me to tell you how fitting it is that Spiros is wearing predominantly yellow items here; he does seem rather good with colours and often selects light pastel clothing items to wear. it is a great shame that he did not wear his class new hat from work in this one, as "standard bank" in Chinese lettering does look rather smart!

another image from inside the jumping castle! Robbie and James took turns in attempting to tackle, as it were, the dolphin inside it. Robbie tended to get the better of it, James just ran around it and hid behind it every now and then!

another gander at the massive jumping castle, as Robbie heads towards it. you may notice that Robbie is wearing a "blue belt" from Karate. this, believe it or not, is already a higher grade or belt than his father has managed to achieve after several years of studying, practicing and getting beaten up in this art.....

a-ha, the big trampoline!! i was rather nervous in letting James loose on this, as he does seem as prone to self damage as his father was at this age; as indeed his father remains i guess. however, he seemed to behave sort of ok on it, with there being only one or two instances of him trying to bounce from the trampoline and on to a roof, the ground or anything else near by!

and now for a few more pictures of our visit to Shaun, Stacey and Ariella. remember the observation of self-damage above? James and these push-bike toys are seldom friends. once he works out that he can ride it ok (and by this i mean James believes being able to push it a few centimeters makes him a master), he attempts to do class wheelies or jumps on it. the result is usually what you see below!!

and, at last, a picture of Stacey! here she is sat with Ariella, with James getting ready to come up on pounce on either or both of them!!!

and finally an "action" shot of Shaun swinging Ariella around whilst James, for a change, goes charging in on the toy bike, only to fall over with it after attempting something that is equally ambitious and inexplicable!!

well, there you go. just looking at the pics again and remembering the fun filled day we all had i feel tired once more!! sorry that there are no further pictures of your humble narrator here, but i dare say that you have all seen enough of my ugly mug in the other pictures to see what i look like!!!

today does not look quite so busy. James and i have been off to do some shopping. i only went for some chicken & salad for lunch today, but appear to have bought an Ice Age 2 lucky packet and, oddly, a toy bat too. not to mention a rather large (ie expensive) cream cake. the joys to taking James to the shops!

thanks again to all who made our eventful Saturday a truly great day!!!! how great? well, James slept straight through from about 8pm to 7am this morning, so he must have been exhausted from all the fun!!!

be excellent to each other!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
