right, this might contain what some of you consider to be SPOILERS, so you have been given fair warning. i doubt i will mention all that much about the plot, mind.
i have seen 7 of the 8 episodes of the third season/series of Prison Break broadcast thus far, and i must confess it is a frustrating experience. the first season was audacious and brilliant. the first half of the second series was a somewhat worthy successor. the second half of it was a preposterous, "we have made this up as we have gone along" kind of experience, with a ridiculous ending. which brings us to this third series.
i don't know how to describe it, quite frankly. there is a plot of sorts (surprise! it involves a prison break), but after 7 episodes it's kind of hard to understand, let alone explain, what the plot is. i have no idea where it is going, and quite frankly i am not sure if i care.
but yet i still keep watching the thing! why? well, i do not get quite as excited about the charms of Wentworth Miller as the lady viewers do, but the characters created such an interest in the first series that you kind of feel compelled to see how it all ends for them.
if it ever ends, i guess. i always thought a second series would be a weak idea, and the third is not making that notion go away. there are only so many times, surely, they can keep using the same ideas - if this third series is not the last, then the mind boggles as to what on earth they will conjure up for a fourth.
if i am lucky, i will when this series has finished (sometime in mid-2008, apparently) give a decent report on the end of it all. it might, however, be time to instead drag out the box set of the first series just to remember how really good that one was.
be excellent to each other!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
