Blasts From The Past

hey everyone

well, with James currently having a thing for Dinosaur movies, i recalled two gems from my youth. by chance, Michele also recalled them, and thus we searched the interwebnetwork for them. amazon had them at a very nice price, and so they are ours!!

The Land That Time Forgot has for me some of what might be my earliest memories. it is difficult to tell, i could recall things earlier than that. anyway, i do remember distinctly watching this masterpiece of cinema at Longbeck Lane, New Marske, with my brother Richard and of course my Mum! i think we lived on Longbeck Lane, at least!

i would seem to recall that the effects were awe-inspiring to me at that age, and i probably believed they used real dinosaurs from somewhere or other. i dare say that when i get around to watching it again in the near future it will look like an astonishing amount of cheese onscreen!

The People That Time Forgot i also remember, and it is in fact probably the one that i remember watching with Richard and Mum, now that i think about it. That said, i can only recall with any distinction one scene of it, and as it was from the end of the film, well, who am i to spoil the surprise for anyone inspired to watch it after reading this??

The trick now, of course, will be seeing how James reacts to these. he certainly has his own favourites, and i do not think that either Mama or Dada would ever wish to impose their own favourites or choices on him. oh well, we will try and sneak them in over the weekend, see how he reacts. after Jurassic Park, however, i am not sure he is going to tolerate lesser Dinosaur effects!!

reading on the internet, however, i think there was one other film that is linked to these two, coming either in between them or after People. if anyone knows what that was, or anything about it, please feel free to comment!

be excellent to each other!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
