infamous director Roger Corman was responsible for this one, apparently. it seems that the 1994 version of The Fantastic Four was never actually intended to be released. some company or other held the rights to the film, rights which were to expire and rights which Marvel were not going to renew. so, for about $1.5 million (that is about 10% if what you would pay to get Arnie or Brucie to just consider being in your film), a version was made quick to retain the rights.it has never had an official release as such, but like other infamous unreleased films (The Rolling Stones ********er Blues springs to mind), copies have leaked around the world for enthusiasts, fans and the curious. these pictures, i believe, are a mix of official stills and screenshots from the rarely seen trailer for it.
i am led to believe that, whilst lacking in special effects (not that the 2005 Fantastic Four was dazzling here - Mr Stretchy, or whatever he is called, is really bad in some close-up shots), it does have a much better, coherent plot structure. i am (ahem) trying to obtain this film, mostly for the curiosity factor. there is a link in the title if you wish to obtain this film - it looks like a good opportunity to make a worthwhile donation to a good cause to get it.
