the reward of (or for) justice

heya

just a brief update on that jury duty i did last year. well, when i say jury duty, i perhaps do not mean in the traditional (or conventional) sense, look you see. more so that thing what the Viz does each year (or at least has for the previous three) at Christmas, when readers are invited to pass sentence on a case being heard at Viz Crown Court, Fulchester.

for a reminder for you, or indeed to be presented as brand (spanking) new information, here you go, here is the link to the case in question. but, be warned, for you should know the harsh, explicit details of a sinister, yet perfectly understandable, crime are outlined. sort of.

of more relevance, perhaps, is that what arrived in the post (prior to Christmas 2020, but here we are now) was my reward for agreeing to do my civic duty and be a member of the jury.

as promised off of the Viz, in return for me submitting my verdict (not guilty, of course) and one of them SAE things, i have received recompense, or compensation, for performing this most arduous and challenging of civic duty tasks. two (further) Viz cheap pens are mine, then.

they really are not kidding, or f*****g about to use the lexicon they would appear to be much more familiar and comfortable with. something doing what it says on the box is always a relief in this modern world, and it beggars belief that there could possibly be any cheaper pens in the world than these ones off of Viz, to be sure. whilst they are serviceable, and can (kind of) be used for any function that one would normally use a pen for (writing stuff), neither the materials used or the craft involved in producing them are things one would refer to as artisan.

one really, really nice touch is the compliments slip what comes with the pens. it is printed on a paper of some marginally decent quality, and does indeed make one feel good about themselves. which is what a compliment should serve to do.

how many cheap pens off of the Viz do i have now? truly, i have lost count. every time they have something on the go where you write in (with an SAE) i feel compelled and obliged to do so. also, i have a few pencils off of them, and some very early days pens when they actually bothered to have some rather decent ones made.

if for some reason you want to try (or taste) the lifestyle of owning a Viz cheap pen (or two, normally they send two), well, the address is there in the one picture. just send them an SAE (with a large letter stamp on) and ask, i guess. worst they can do is not send one, and just send a note telling you to f*** off or something mature and sophisticated like that.

be excellent to each other!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
