switch off and feel

hi frankie fans

well, this is a trifle strange. no, not celebrating the date (or anniversary) of when i went to go and see Frankie Goes To Hollywood, look you see, but rather how far in advance i am writing this. it turned out that i had a little free time towards the end of 2019, so i thought i would test the patience of post dated blog things.

so, hello the future (and indeed the present where you are) from the past. if it were the other way around, and i was saying hi from the future, that would be quite a trick. one that, alas, i am not aware of how to do.

to celebrate this date, at this point last year i added, shared, "upped", posted or "dropped" a video i made what had Relax off of the very concert i was at as the soundtrack. my thanks again to the person that provided me of a (reasonable) bootleg of the gig i was lucky enough to be in attendance for.

for this year, then, how about a bit (as in the whole performance) of that nine weeks at number one (when it actually meant something as it was based on sales and not easily manipulated "streams") classic that is Two Tribes? yes, me and the rest of the audience are screaming a bit over it, but you can sort of kind of hear the song in the below too.

it was so that the band did Two Tribes as the final encore song, which was a really nice touch. yes, indeed, so far as i am aware, it is so that Two Tribes remains the best, the greatest, the most important and certainly most successful artistic tribute to Mad Max 2 (or The Road Warrior if American) ever created. sure, yes, it was mixed and marketed as an epic nuclear, cold war, USA vs USSR menacing anthem, but lyrically it was inspired by Mad Max 2. members of the band have confirmed this, and when you watch the film (which you should frequently do), the bulk of the lyrics are right there in the opening monologue.

more of the same this time next year? i would certainly expect so, since i have already created and "upped" the video file for 10/01/2022, which shall be (wait a minute let me see) the 35th anniversary of me being at the gig.

be excellent to each other!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
