a reading from the book of Mani

well, despite confirmation that Ian Brown and John Squire did indeed have a rather sad reason to meet each other again, the talk of a Stone Roses reunion was, as i thought, just tabloid speculation.

here, in the truest Mani style there is, is Mani's statement on it all.






"I'm disgusted that my personal grief has been invaded and hijacked by these nonsensical stories. Two old friends meeting up after 15 years to pay their respects to my mother does not constitute the reformation of The Stone Roses. Please f*** off and leave it alone. It isn't true and isn't happening."





to be honest, i am surprised that Mani has even bothered to address this, let alone show such incredible restraint in the anger of his response in having this difficult time for him disturbed by these stories being pushed around yet again.

the press, in particular the NME, are of course going to run with this for a few days yet, no matter what Mani says. the astonishing lack of any musicians as interesting or worth covering these days means that there's little else to do but hope and push for a Stone Roses reunion so as they have something worthwhile to write about.

many, many people in the world would love to see The Stone Roses together. the four who count, alas, have no interest.
