portsmouth telephone box

heya

blimey, already, then, we are in that final quarter of a year where the month takes a double digit numerical form. this is true, at the least, at the time of composition, look you see. should you be reading this in a month dignified numerically in (or of) a singular nature, apologies from the past to your present for any confusion caused.

so, more observations from the place they call portsmouth. or where it is called portsmouth. actually there are several things i could write of from there, but mostly they concern the roads. specifically their peculiar, unexpected adaptations of standard traffic laws. those are things what i cannot illustrate though, as one is not permitted to take pictures as they drive. which would be a silly and dangerous thing to do.

when walking around, though (or mind), one is relatively free to take pictures. i mean, yes, all actions have a consequence in some form or another. but i doubt any immediate distress, or concern, would have been caused by my documenting a telephone box ('phone booth' if for some reason american) that provided an impromptu canvass for one or two locals (i assume) to beautify.

obviously it as the upper (top) aspects of art which attracted my attention. my that is one splendid stencil of Chuck Norris in what one could argue was his prime, being as it is clearly from his 80s days of cinema. sure, indeed and certainly many would suggest his finest work came later, when doing all that quite class Texas Ranger television show. but i prefer Delta Force and Code Of Silence, thanks. what a pity, though, that they couldn't spell 'Chuck' right, unless of course one spells it 'Chuk' down there. or maybe they believed they were evading copyright infringement issues by this slight change.

i don't really have any wish (or intention) of doing regular sightings of things in portsmouth, but let us see the hand the dealer of live gives me. up to now, mindful of this post, i suppose it's not so bad doing one every now and then, if limited to even number months.

for the other bit of graffiti, or "street art", if you will, no idea.i mean, no idea if it is connected to the above, or just random. actually, saw a few things with 'scud' added to them with paint, or some form of marker. going on memory, the "scud missile" was formidably popular as a subject of discussion during the first so-called gulf war. perhaps it was painted by an enthusiast of that military device who(m) is reluctant to progress to modern weapons, or maybe it is just a nickname for someone. neither know nor care, really. so, probably best to leave it as is.

be excellent to each other!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
