well, blimey. it feels like a long, long time since i did one of these posts. and indeed it probably has been, look you see. but here we are, and to remove any (strange) doubt in the minds of enthusiasts, yes, this is a brand new, recent car wash adventure presented in the greater glory of Commodore 64 mode.
as far as i am aware (and my awareness has been called into reasonable question from time to time), the major car wash facilities across the UK were all up, running, active and open during those quite hedonistic 'lockdown' days of the invisible war on the plague. they were probably considered a key business, for in terms of The English Way Of Doing Things, one should not drive around in a filthy, dirty car, lest they wish people to stare at them and tut somewhat.
but then, one of the most important ways in which we "won" the invisible war (or until the majority just got bored with it) was to not drive cars much. or fly, or similar. this was a very Greta pleasing element to the battle, but also as i was not driving much there was no real reason for me to trouble a car wash. as point of fact, i do believe i visited a petrol station only once (as in one time) between March and the latter stages of June.
i trust the above brings some (presumably) overdue delight, then, for those of you who check in here to see if i have done any recent car wash adventures and recorded them for posterity (or what have you) in the greater glory of Commodore 64 mode. yes, i have done so.
everyone is, to some extent, finding their feet in this brave new world of ours. i confess, i was a little intimidated, shy and (somewhat) embarrassed, as is the correct frame of mind under The English Way Of Doing Things, when i approached the lass in the petrol station to enquire as to the availability of the car wash. she gave me every assurance that, for a fee, it was available.
have i gone right ahead and created one of them "animated GIF" or just plain "GIF" things, in Commodore 64 mode, of the car wash? as it happens, two, but this first one could be one of the best ever ones that i have done. how very apt for the celebrated return of such to this blog.
once again i must confess to having no known knowledge as to why these posts are popular here. if i were to speculate, then i would suggest just looking at the above is mesmerising to a degree which is not hypnotising, but close enough. the purple blue green colour effect transition stuff is rather tranquil.
just what do i do whilst the car was does its thing, sat as i am, on the inside, with the engine off? mostly take Commodore 64 mode images for your viewing pleasure. i cannot recall the last time used a car was and did not elect to record the moment.
for your indulgence, though, here i am, in Commodore 64 mode, sat in the vehicle, watching the car wash do its thing. with its thing being to wash said vehicle. in the interests of recording such information for the generations to come, the fee commanded for this was was just one penny south of that £5 mark.
perhaps i should make the effort to wear my smart 70s assassin style glasses for such pictures, or otherwise get out my quasi Bono out of U2 The Fly era safety glasses to wear. i shall try to remember to do so for future (as opposed to previous) such ventures; it might be that i write a note somewhere or other along those lines so as not to forget to do so.
not really all that much else i can say in this instance, but the above represents substantially more said than has been on the last few posts on the subject. but, before i depart this post, here's that other GIF thing i mentioned earlier. not quite as good, true, but sufficient.
let it be so that this look at what goes on in the carwash, in the greater glory of Commodore 64 mode, has brought someone some great, or passing, pleasure in some capacity, then.
i do feel compelled to write something else here, just purely for the aesthetics of how it looks (which is what aesthetics are) on the web. however, with nothing else to add, i will leave it there.
be excellent to each other!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
