wowee, one of my wild guesses on the subject turned out to be right! Metallica have been confirmed as the third headline act for Glastonbury 2014.

metal in your faces, dude.

i am assuming that the delay in announcing them was over the delicate matter of the BBC expecting to be able to broadcast the full sets of all headliners, and Metallica not really liking this idea too much. presumably some sort of deal has been struck, as - whilst i wish to avoid the moaning and groaning that goes with it - the commercial and broadcast exploitation rights have very much become the single most important thing about Glastonbury. it is still ace, though. in many ways nice that it has stopped pretending to be not all about money.

nice one indeed for those fortunate enough to get tickets, there are some amazing acts on the bill. i suspect i am rather too old for this sort of thing anyway.
