in tribute to the fact that the producers of the Oxford English Dictionary have decided that the word "selfie", usually accepted as being invented in the early 2000s, is in fact the best newly created word of 2013, i thought i would treat you all to a few new selfies. see it as as a sort of celebration on the flexibility of Oxford, if you like.
actually it's probably more of a celebration of the fact that i had adopted a love of surgical masks for reasons that, quite frankly, i am not going to go into. just admire.
yes, that one above seems to have scared one or two people, really. or at least the original version did; the upload to blogger of it has seen it take on some sort of bizarre red tint, which might well make it all the more scary i suppose.
speaking of which, as i was sorting through stuff, i found a classic of American 90s literature, and so decided to read it, seeing as i had the mask on and everything.
that was a difficult selfie to take, believe me. might have been easier if i had some gloves or something, but i am not sure i have any that fit me.
at some point, of course, i am going to have to have a try at the "ultimate selfie". that would be me wearing a surgical mask, reflected in a car mirror of some description, with the picture of course taken in Commodore 64 mode. it is going to be some work, that, but i think i can pull it off. as it were.
