la distancia hasta aquí

heya

did you know that Argentina is, like, totes close to Paraguay? or, if you so prefer, that Paraguay is close to Argentina? i did not, and further, look you see, i didn't particularly care for the matter. perhaps that is somewhat harsh - maybe not so much did not care as had not really ever given the matter much thought.

this matter has now, however, been drawn to my attention. for what reason? Spiros. he has taken it upon himself to go on some sort of jolly boy, or if you will lovely lads, sojourn across most of what is known as South America. whereas i have no idea if he has happened to pick me up some lovely fags off of this territory, he has been so kind as to share some pictures with me. as would be usual, i am happy to showcase them here.

first up, then, is that bit off of the opening paragraph. here is an image of what i think is the closest you can get to Paraguay whilst still being very much in Argentina. why is it that you would want to achieve the goal of saying that you have done this? no clue, but if you do, then that's so much the better.

that's pretty much standard for a border point, i think you will find. quite European in style, i suppose, which in many respects makes sense. oh, i have just noticed, Argentinian traffic cones would appear to be a good deal slimmer than ones that i can recall seeing in other aspects of the world.

some rather disturbing news from South America is that they are, apparently, facing a falling population crisis. well, so Spiros reckons. having covered all of the important or interesting parts of the continent, or land mass, he has stated that it's like one big massive triangle, and all that he has done is "ride the hypotenuse of homo-erotica". in his experience, virtually all of the continent has rejected the conventions of heterosexuality, and so there is a great and real danger that the current population of the continent shall be the last. a bit like Children Of Men, i suppose, only presumably without Clive Owen.

usually i would not question Spiros, for he is wise and knowledgeable as you would expect from the greatest legal mind of his generation. however, in this instance i did. as there has been no mention, not even in passing, on the news of how South America will soon be population free, i asked if he was sure. he said yes. i pressed the matter, and asked him if he was not a little hasty coming to this conclusion, since presumably his experience of South American lifestyle choices had been limited to sailors and other such professionals whom he had met in public restroom facilities to form short lived all the same mutually beneficial friendships with. he told me to f*** off.

on to Brazil, then. so far as i am aware Brazil is massive, to be sure, and as such is probably close to Paraguay, Argentina and some other places. unlike Paraguay, i am pretty sure it has a coast too. but, also, it has taxis. pictured above are some of the taxis one may procure the services of, if they happen to be in Brazil and in need of such a means of transportation.

quite a few of you, i know, simply visit this blog purely for more exploits of Spiros. one of the more interesting things that he does which entertains many of you is start fights with taxi drivers. usually this is limited to London Black Cab drivers, but he has from time to time been tempted to indulge in a more international approach. as far as i am aware, however, in this instance Spiros declined the chance to have a fight with a Brazilian cabbie. this suggests, then, that unlike the London counterparts, they were respectful to him and did not accuse him of being Australian.

should any of this have been of any interest, or merely added to your existing knowledge and ideas about South America, well that's great.

be excellent to each other!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
