wǒ tā mā gānggāng kànle shénme

你好

a thing what i am quite prone to do is to browse charity shops and purchase discs. this, by no means, is because i am short of discs. far from it, look you see. partially yes, i do have a wish to donate to help others, but mostly, if i am honest, it is in the realms of addiction as to why.

for the most part (or mostly) i try to limit purchase only to those discs i may have an interest, or preference, in actually watching, or indeed listening to. but, every once in a while, i shall take a bit of a chance on something. saying taking a gamble is not right, for ultimately a charitable donation has been made, so what i get out of it is secondary. yet also, i suppose, i could get a "win" by procuring something particularly special.

not really, not really, no. that would mostly, if not overall, be my answer to any questions you may have as to whether or not i feel, or believe, that i "scored" a smart disc. or even an interesting one. undoubtedly what i have will be of interest to someone somewhere, just not me.

what, exactly, was i hoping for? let us be honest here, a nice bit of filth. nothing too graphic or sordid, perhaps, but still, something quite nice on the eye. instinctively i knew it would not be so, for all the artwork gave every indication it would be some incomprehensible (dull) asian or oriental (forgive me if the latter is no longer socially acceptable) musical thing, but still i took a chance for 19p.

so yes, then, some sort of stage production, be it musical or opera, off of "the east", which i don't think is a term likely to cause offence. far east is how i think one normally refers to it, but who knows if that now causes some distress somewhere.

please don't ask me what it's called, let alone what it is about, for i have no clue. from what bits i watched the best i can do for you is suggest it is about one dude dancing around, then one lady dancing around, and then a slightly younger lady (i think) standing around not dancing. i would speculate, or just guess, that later on the third cast member also does some dancing. and singing.

as very nearly all of the text available on the box and disc is in a language i do not understand, no, then, i have no clue to the name. the only bits in english (as such) are the quasi copyright warning notice going around the circumference of the disc itself. beyond the usual warnings that unauthorised use of the disc is prohibited (actually "paohibited" is what it says), the only clue to provenance is that it is from the dong fang hong audio & video co ltd.

by the way, some of you may (and many of you will not) be interested to know that this disc is what they call a "video cd". does what it says on the box, mostly, which means that it is a compact disc what plays video instead of audio, but it is possible to make a "hybrid" of both audio and video on such a disc. at least i think it is. maximum amount of video you can get on it is more or less limited to that 80 minutes which most music discs offer. different from a dvd, or blu ray, then, where one can compress and compress the video to lower qualities, but get more minutes (or hours) of footage on. since most films had to be placed on two or three (or more) discs, not, this format didn't really take off.

exactly what shall i end up doing with this curious (kind of) video cd? not much in the immediate future. quite likely that i will simply throw it out at some point, unless for some reason anyone i know of wants it. or perhaps i shall post it to someone at random, such as a member of parliament or an accredited member of the press, for instance, just to see what (if anything) they make of it.

could be Korean, or Japanese, i suppose, really don't know. but i suspect not.

彼此优秀!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
