Forbidden World

hello there

much to my disappointment, frustration even, i simply do not get the time, margin or chance to watch all of the films that i wish to see. so it's a bit weird that when i do get the chance to watch something i watch utter, utter rubbish, i suppose.

this is Forbidden World, also known as Mutant. i kind of knew it would be rubbish, but watched it anyway in the wild hope that it would at the least be entertaining rubbish. and it was.

why did i end up watching this? because it's about 75mins long. that is roughly how long Toy Story 2 is, which my (considerably) better half was watching with the boys, leaving me free and clear to watch this undisturbed and at the same time. yeah, when you are picking a film on the basis of running time there's a problem.

i believe it is supposed to be a sequel to something called Galaxy Of Terror, which i have heard of but not seen. it did not really affect following this if that's the case.

what is it and what is it all about? well, in 75 minutes it manages to rip off (take a breath) Alien, Battle Beyond The Stars, The Thing, elements of Soylent Green, every bonkers scientist thing you have seen, Star Wars, Battlestar Galactica and probably one or two things i have not seen. it also throws in some grotesque horror scenes and a substantial amount of rudey-nudey stuff. and it even sort of clings to a coherent plot and story.

so actually it was not rubbish. quite good, really.doubt i would watch it again, but i think i will have a look you see around for this Galaxy Of Terror thing. which i suppose i will just have to watch as a sort of 'prequel' thingie, then.

be excellent to each other!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
