tag team time

hi there

yay! woo-hoo! somehow this morning i was able to become one of those lucky enough to be able to pay a little bit more to get to work and back! surely this move sees me move from cool to uber-cool?

there's a bit of cheek involved in the above, of course. this whole "e-toll" system is causing quite a fuss and a number of protests, to be honest. my view is that it seems here to stay, and will add an insignificant amount to my travel to work costs, so it is not worth the effort to run up a bigger bill by boycotting it.

as a plus, going and getting the device, including registering and all that, is a breeze. it took all of 10 minutes i think; how ace it would be if all official things here ran so smooth.

i do have major concerns about what these tolls are going to do to transportation costs in relation to food prices going up and up, and indeed there are people who will go through more of the toll gates (that have excellent purple lights, by the way) than i do who will get hit much harder in the wallet.

various unions and i think the AA are busy fighting some legal battle against these tolls, and good luck to them for the reasons just mentioned. in the mean time, i do tend to be one of the few down here that tries to abide by the rules of the road, so into the car it goes!

be excellent to each other!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
